Job summary

AAR Corp is seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor to gather objective evidence through interviews, document reviews, observations, and audits to verify compliance with FAA regulations and ASM policies. You’ll drive corrective actions and process improvements through detailed investigations and non-conformance resolutions.

You will conduct facility and supplier surveillance, ensure proper inspections, and communicate findings with professionalism within a demanding aviation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled surveillance of repair stations, facilities, vendors, and suppliers for compliance with ASM policies and FARs.
  • Evaluate internal operations to ensure facilities, equipment and procedures support safe, compliant operations.
  • Coordinate investigation and reporting of non-conformance incidents.
  • Ensure personnel comply with applicable regulations, manuals, and policies; maintain data accuracy and traceability.
  • Oversee training adequacy and tool control programs; support final inspections before Return to Service.

Job description

Summary

The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for compiling objective evidence by conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, observing activities, performing audits, surveillance, and investigations to determine whether organizations and/or individuals (management or non-management) are conducting business in accordance with regulations and established policies and procedures. The Quality Assurance Auditor provides direction and recommendations for the resolution of matters of non-conformance through the development of corrective action plans, comprehensive fixes, and/or process changes. Based on input from the Quality Assurance Auditor and/or Department's investigation, the Company will determine what action may be warranted.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The work of the Quality Assurance Auditor includes, but is not limited to:

  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled surveillance of the repair station, its facility and vendors, sub-contractors, aircraft parts suppliers, and manufacturers for compliance with AAR Air Services Miami (ASM) Policies and Procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Evaluate Internal Operations for adequacy of facilities, equipment, procedures, and overall management to ensure safe, effective, and compliant operations.
  • Coordinate investigation and reporting of incidents of non‑compliance and non‑conformance.
  • Ensure all Repair Station personnel comply with current Federal Aviation Regulations, Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, and Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a positive customer service attitude without compromising quality.
  • Ensure maintenance and inspection personnel use approved or accepted data issued by the manufacturer, FAA, and/or Customer.
  • Ensure adequate inspection aids, special tools, and equipment are available and maintained in a serviceable condition.
  • Oversight of facility technician training requirements.
  • Oversight of the facility tool control and tool calibration program.
  • Ensure final inspections are properly performed on all work completed before it is released for Return to Service.
  • Conduct internal and external facility audits as required.
  • Ensure incoming parts, supplies, and articles receive an incoming inspection (Receiving Inspection) in accordance with repair station policies and procedures.
  • Perform such other tasks as may be reasonably assigned by his/her supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using standard English.

  • Able to complete assigned tasks, including follow-up assignments, in a timely manner.
  • Must be willing to work an irregular schedule when required.
  • Familiar with the following FAA regulations: 14 CFR 43, 145, and 121 preferred.
  • Able to competently research and retrieve technical data.
  • Properly interpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical data preferred.
  • Minimum of one year hands-on Aircraft Maintenance experience or one year specialized experience in a related aviation field preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC applications (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Data Analysis tools).
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to analyze information and utilize problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to work under adverse conditions in a production or aircraft hangar environment.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA A&P certificate preferred.
  • ASQ, ISO or similar certificate preferred.
  • Formal Quality Assurance or auditing training preferred.
  • College or University 2/4 year degree preferred.
