Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking a Staff Auditor to perform professional auditing work aligned with IS standards and the Texas Internal Auditing Act. The role involves individual and team-based audits across financial, performance, compliance, and IT areas, with a campus assignment and travel to other TSTC locations as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields, demonstrates strong written and verbal communication, and is proficient in MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Excellent written and communication skills, including ability to write professional audit reports and work papers.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel; able to learn other software.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures and document findings clearly and accurately.
• Conduct interviews, review documents, administer surveys, prepare summary memos, and maintain working papers.
• Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment.
• Evaluate adequacy of controls and risk management processes.
• Prepare organized, accurate written work papers supporting audit conclusions.
• Communicate with managers and employees at all levels of the organization.
• Prepare and disseminate written audit reports of audit results.
• Maintain productive interdepartmental relationships; participate in professional development.
