Job summary

Welch, Couch & Company, PA in Arkansas and Missouri is seeking an Auditor to join our assurance team. You will work directly with clients and leadership on engagements, with real responsibility and a clear path for advancement.

Responsibilities include planning and performing audits, reviews, and compilations, preparing workpapers and financial statements, testing internal controls, and communicating findings to engagement leaders. Travel is limited.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related field with accounting coursework)
• 2+ years of public accounting audit/assurance experience
• CPA license or active progress toward the CPA — either is welcome
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites (travel is limited)
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Planning and performing audit, review, and compilation engagements across a range of industries
• Preparing and reviewing workpapers, financial statements, and related disclosures
• Testing internal controls and identifying areas of risk
• Communicating findings and recommendations to clients and engagement leaders
• Staying current on GAAP, GAAS, and relevant regulatory standards
• Mentoring and reviewing the work of less-experienced team members as appropriate
