Job summary

San Bernardino County is hiring Auditor-Appraiser Trainees who will learn to apply accounting and auditing knowledge to perform audit-appraisals. Under supervision, you will analyze ledgers, statements, and tax documents to appraise various business concerns and property.

Training leads toward promotion to higher levels within 18–24 months. Promotion opportunities exist to Auditor-Appraiser I and II with their respective salary ranges, and a California driver's license is required for field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in accounting or 18 accounting/auditing units required (Option A).
• Licensed CA accountant with 4 years experience (Option B).
• Permanent appraiser certificate for property tax (Option C).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and audit ledgers, journals, financial statements and tax returns.
• Develop audit-appraisals for diverse commercial-property concerns.
• Review Business Personal Property Statements for appraisal accuracy.
• Inspect business personal property such as equipment and inventory.
• Reconcile differences between accounting records.
