Job summary

The Office of the Medicaid Inspector General seeks Auditors to conduct comprehensive audits of managed care organizations receiving cost-based rates. Responsibilities include performing tests, reviews, and reconciliations of accounts and records; analyzing managed care cost reports; assisting in audit planning; preparing work papers and reports; and communicating findings to supervisors.

The position is based in Buffalo, NY and offers telecommuting options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation (or bachelor's degree with 24 semester credit hours in these fields)
• For Auditor 1: two years of professional experience in accounting/auditing or financial/internal/field auditing
• For Auditor Trainee 2: one year of professional experience in accounting/auditing with responsibility for design, review, and analysis of accounting systems
• Knowledge of Word and Excel; excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve conflicts and audit issues
