Job summary

SBG logistics division is seeking a Shipping Auditor in Louisville, KY to verify outbound shipments, quantities, conditions, labeling, and documentation prior to release. The role supports compliance with customer, carrier, retail, and internal quality standards and participates in Dangerous Goods control per procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in shipping, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, auditing, order fulfillment, or material handling preferred.
  • Experience auditing shipments, verifying order accuracy, reviewing labels, checking shipment documentation, or identifying shipment discrepancies preferred.
  • Experience with RF scanning, warehouse management systems, shipping systems, reporting tools, ERP systems, or related documentation systems preferred.
  • Experience handling, preparing, labeling, documenting, verifying, processing, or supporting Dangerous Goods shipments preferred, with ability to follow required transportation safety procedures when assigned and trained.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, follow-up, escalation, and basic computer skills in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Audit outbound shipments to confirm product accuracy, quantity, condition, labeling, carton count, and shipment documentation before release.
  • Verify picked, packed, staged, and loaded shipments against order requirements, customer requirements, carrier requirements, and internal work instructions.
  • Review shipping documents, packing records, labels, bills of lading, tracking details, and system transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Inspect cartons, pallets, labels, and product presentation to identify damages, shortages, overages, mis-shipments, missing documentation, or other nonconformities.
  • Handle, prepare, label, document, verify, and support processing of Dangerous Goods shipments in accordance with company procedures, carrier requirements, transportation safety requirements, and applicable regulations when assigned and trained.
  • Validate Dangerous Goods shipment documentation, labels, markings, packaging condition, and process compliance before shipment release when required.
  • Use RF scanners, computers, warehouse management systems, shipping systems, reporting tools, and related equipment to complete audit transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate audit findings, discrepancies, shipment holds, Dangerous Goods concerns, and corrective actions to the Shipping Supervisor or designated leadership.
  • Partner with shipping, packing, inventory, customer service, transportation, and operations teams to resolve shipment issues quickly and accurately.
  • Identify repeat shipping errors, documentation issues, process gaps, or compliance concerns and elevate recurring trends.
  • Follow all LDC work instructions, operational standards, quality requirements, safety rules, and Dangerous Goods procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area and perform other duties assigned in support of shipping, quality, warehouse operations, and transportation safety compliance.

Job description

The Shipping Auditor is responsible for auditing outbound shipments, verifying product quantity, condition, identification, labeling, documentation, and system transactions before shipment release. The Shipping Auditor also supports Dangerous Goods shipment controls by verifying, documenting, handling, preparing, labeling, and supporting processing of Dangerous Goods shipments in accordance with company procedures, carrier requirements, transportation safety requirements, and applicable regulations.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, active powered industrial equipment, dock activity, and frequent material movement.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with safety requirements related to general warehouse work and Dangerous Goods handling or support activities.
