Job summary

BDO USA in Ridgeland, MS seeks an Intern in our Assurance practice to apply your accounting education and organizational skills on real client work. You will assist in problem solving and move learning forward under guidance from experienced staff.

This hands-on role covers GAAP, audit methodologies, and client engagement support, building critical relationships and preparing you for CPA licensure.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting.
• Pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a structured on-the-job training program and becomes familiar with GAAP and GAAS.
• Becomes familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with audit stages.
• Provides support to audit staff during engagements.
• Communicates with clients' customers, creditors, banks and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepares and documents work in working papers using BDO templates.
• Contributes ideas to audit teams and participates in discussions.
