Job summary

Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM) seeks a Manager, Audit Technical Resource Group to provide technical guidance and quality review support for complex accounting matters across engagements. The role strengthens firm-wide capabilities and ensures strict adherence to professional standards.

Through training, collaboration, and research, you will help teams navigate GAAP issues and maintain audit quality, working with engagement teams and leadership to advance the audit practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Active CPA license in good standing.
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting or audit with a technical focus.
• Experience mentoring or supervising audit professionals.
• Solid background in US GAAP and current audit concepts.

Responsibilities

• Perform Report Quality Reviews (RQRs) across a variety of engagement types and industries.
• Research, analyze, and formally document technical accounting and auditing issues to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Respond to advanced technical inquiries using professional standards and research tools.
• Develop and update technical tools, templates, training materials, and whitepaper guidance on complex accounting issues.
• Participate in internal inspections, peer reviews, and quality management activities, including documentation and follow-up.
• Deliver and support technical training through firmwide programs such as TRG News and Technically Speaking webinars.
• Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, including new guidance.
• Maintain current knowledge of GAAP and technology platforms relevant to assurance services.
