Overview

Employment in this role is conditional upon successful execution of the contract by the client.

The Work:

TheAudit Support Financial Analystwill support financial statement audits and provide analytical insights to enhance processes. This role will analyze financial records, test internal controls, adhering to established auditing standards, and applying business process improvement techniques to promote efficiency.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial statement audits, including conductinginternal control testingand providing informed assessments of financial compliance with industry standards.
  • Conducthistorical comparative analysisof financial records to identify trends, variances, and potential risks, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Support financial processes for our client, leveraging an understanding of defense-related financial operations.
  • UtilizeMicrosoft Excelextensively to complete analyses, reconcile discrepancies, and deliver data-driven visualizations using features such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, slicers, Power Query, and macros.
  • Applybusiness process improvement techniquesto optimize workflows and establish operational efficiencies across financial and auditing functions.
  • Maintain proficiency in the application ofGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)andGenerally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS)to ensure audit compliance.
  • Provide thorough documentation and reports to ensure compliance with auditing standards and facilitate seamless communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain process improvements aligned with the organization’s objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum3+ years of experienceperforming financial statement audits, including internal control testing.
  • Proven ability to conducthistorical comparative analysisof financial records.
  • Experience supporting government financial and audit operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including demonstrated expertise in:
    • Formulas such as VLOOKUP and complex reconciliations
    • PivotTables and slicers for dynamic data presentation and analysis
    • Power Query and macros for automation and data manipulation
    • Advanced charting and data visualization
  • Experience implementingbusiness process improvementsto streamline operations and increase effectiveness.
  • In-depth knowledge ofGAAPandGAGAS.
  • ActiveSecret Clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD and Department of Navy-specific financial systems, such as:
    • Standard Accounting, Budgeting, and Reporting System (SABRS)
    • SABRS Management Analysis Retrieval Tool (SMARTS)
    • Advanced Analytics (ADVANA)orJupiter
    • Navy Enterprise Resource Management (NERP)
    • SharePoint
  • CurrentCertified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • A Bachelor’s degree inAccounting, Finance, or a related fieldis strongly preferred.

Working Conditions:
