Job summary

Markent Personnel, Inc. is seeking an Audit Supervisor in the Chicago North Suburbs with a hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on employee benefit plan audits for privately held clients, offering exposure to diverse industries and engagement types.

You will lead engagements from planning to completion, supervise staff, and interact directly with firm leadership. The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in public accounting, a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, and CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of public accounting experience in audit and accounting.
• Strong technical accounting and audit skills for complex engagements.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Experience supervising and developing staff.
• CPA preferred; licensed status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead employee benefit plan audits and other assurance engagements from planning through completion.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff accountants.
• Develop engagement work plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements.
• Monitor engagement progress and communicate with Managers and Partners.
• Prepare Form 990 and business tax returns for audit engagements.
• Manage engagement economics, including budgeting and billing.
