We are currently seeking talented candidates to fill the position of Audit Supervisor.
Qualifications: The audit supervisor will play a crucial role in managing audit engagements, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services to a variety of clients.
Responsibilities:
- Engagement Management: Scheduling, planning, and executing audit and review engagements in accordance with GAAS. Supervising and reviewing work prepared by staff and senior accountants. Managing multiple engagements and staff concurrently, planning and performing audit procedures to address risk.
- Team Leadership: Supervising and mentoring team members, planning work for junior and senior staff, answering technical and procedural questions, and fostering professional development. Providing feedback, maintaining communication with the team manager, and keeping technical knowledge up-to-date through educational activities.
- Client Interaction: Serving as the primary contact for clients during engagements, building relationships with management, and communicating findings and recommendations effectively.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and regulations. Demonstrating strong communication skills both remotely and in person.
- Technical Expertise: Guiding on complex accounting and auditing issues, identifying misstatements, and correcting journal entries. Applying analytical skills and financial storytelling.
- Process Improvement: Identifying efficiencies, managing engagement budgets, and contributing to tools and methodology development.
- Industry Exposure: Healthcare, rental real estate, not-for-profit, construction contracting, employee benefit plans, HUD, labor unions.
- Preferred Skills: Documentation, attention to detail, research reporting, analytical skills, familiarity with QuickBooks and Yardi, advanced Excel skills.
- Education and Experience: 4 to 6 years of audit and accounting experience in a small to mid-size public accounting firm. CPA or candidate required.
