  • One year as an Audit Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of professional auditing experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by eighteen credits in accounting and auditing; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included the required eighteen credits in accounting and auditing.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on analyzing financial information submitted by skilled nursing care facilities to ensure they meet Commonwealth standards. The role supports sound licensing decisions that protect residents and promote responsible ownership.

  • Financial Review: Examine financial statements and related documents to assess feasibility and compliance
  • Standards Verification: Confirm adherence to generally accepted accounting principles ( GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards ( GAAS) while documenting key observations
  • Data Evaluation: Analyze additional financial materials to determine the ability to operate facilities responsibly
  • Procedure Documentation: Maintain clear guidance and instructions for financial review processes
  • Ownership Analysis: Review ownership structures and related information to determine completeness and related party activity
  • Communication Support: Provide clear recommendations and assist in preparing regular reports

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Audit Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
  • Three years of professional auditing experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing ; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included the required eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing.
