Job summary

ORBA in Chicago, IL is seeking an Audit Senior to oversee audit, review and compilation engagements under guidance from the Audit Manager and Director. You will supervise staff, perform risk assessments, and ensure timely wrap-up of engagements.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Accounting or Finance, 3-5 years in public accounting, and CPA is preferred. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to manage multiple engagements and deliver high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting & audit experience in public accounting.
• Minimum of 1 year leading audits.
• Experience preparing tax returns is a plus.
• Experience with for-profit and non-for-profit clients.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the work of audit staff including reviewing their work and providing on-the-job training.
• Conduct basic, specialized and complex financial, operational and compliance audits under the direction of the audit director.
• Perform risk assessment prior to the beginning of an audit engagement.
• Prepare the most complex work papers and document accounting & audit work performed to support conclusions.
• Prepare draft financial statements and management letters and wrap up engagements timely.
• Perform reviews and compilations and report progress to Audit Manager and Audit Director.
