Job summary

SingerLewak in Oxnard, CA, seeks an experienced auditor to join our public accounting practice. You will perform audit and review procedures, understand client businesses, and support engagements from planning to issuance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in accounting, at least two years in public accounting, CPA licensure or progress toward it, and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• At least two years of public accounting experience.
• CPA license or on track to obtain one.
• Ability to travel to client locations.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS, and PCAOB standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit or review procedures as assigned.
• Understand client’s business and industry and accounting and control systems.
• Assess risks and evaluate the client’s internal control structure.
• Perform and document analytical procedures, substantive tests, and tests of controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Review or draft of financial statements and other client deliverables.
• Direct, training, supervising and reviewing the work performed by staff and experienced staff auditors.
• Build and maintaining good client relationships.
• Be actively involved all phases of a client engagement, from planning to issuance.
• Demonstrating proficiency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards.

• Understanding the client’s business and industry and accounting and control systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• At least two years of experience in public accounting
• Holds a current and valid CPA’s license, or is working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations
• Possess thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States, United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards

$40.86 - $47.12 an hour

Eligible for overtime time at time and a half of hourly rate.
