UHY International is seeking an Audit Senior Staff Accountant in New York to plan and execute attestation engagements with high-quality results. You will collaborate with clients and leaders to develop supervisory skills and advance toward senior responsibilities while gaining exposure to complex engagements.

The role emphasizes auditing procedures, internal controls analysis, and clear documentation, within a professional office environment and frequent travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant audit experience.
• Experience in a professional service environment such as a CPA firm is preferred.
• CPA licensure in progress or a relevant certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning and preparation of audit engagements under guidance of senior team members.
• Execute audit procedures, including testing of controls, substantive testing, and analytical procedures.
• Document work performed, findings, and conclusions in an organized and clear manner.
• Analyze financial statements, disclosures, and supporting documentation to identify issues or discrepancies.
• Evaluate internal control systems and processes to identify weaknesses or deficiencies in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with client personnel to obtain necessary information and documentation for audit purposes.
• Maintain professional communication and build relationships with client representatives.
• Stay updated on relevant accounting and auditing standards and conduct research to address issues that arise during engagements.
• Contribute to the preparation of audit reports and supporting workpapers to substantiate findings.

Education
