Job summary

Vaco is seeking an experienced Audit Prep Consultant to support external audit preparation and coordination efforts. The role is a remote contract positioned to work East Coast hours, lasting 4–5 months with potential extension.

The candidate will manage audit requests, organize documentation, and serve as the central liaison between external auditors and internal accounting teams. Key responsibilities include tracking deliverables, preparing supporting schedules, and ensuring timely responses

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–7 years of audit, accounting, financial reporting experience preferred.
• Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting background preferred.
• Strong understanding of external audit processes and supporting documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as central coordinator for external audit requests and preparation activities.
• Manage audit request lists and track deliverables across accounting and finance teams.
• Coordinate collection, organization, and validation of supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders to enable timely responses to audit inquiries.
• Assist with preparation of financial statement support schedules, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Support statutory and consolidated financial audits.
