Job summary

Smith + Howard seeks a Director of Quality Control to lead the System of Quality Management across all offices and service lines, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance. The role collaborates with IT and the AI Steering Committee to align quality with innovation while driving continuous improvement.

The position requires CPA credentials, 10–12 years in public accounting, and oversight of offshore resources, with travel to multiple offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Active CPA license required.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the firm’s System of Quality Management (SOQM) across all offices and service lines.
• Lead annual SOQM evaluation and produce required documentation.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update firm policies accordingly.
• Coordinate internal inspections/monitoring reviews across offices.
• Collaborate with the AI Steering Committee on quality standards for emerging technologies.
• Oversee offshore resources to ensure quality and consistency with firm methodology.
• Support CPE compliance and form a firm-wide education committee.
