Grinding Rock CPAs & Advisors is seeking an Audit Manager to lead financial statement audits, Tribal Single Audits, and related compliance engagements for tribal governments and state/local entities. This hybrid role is based near San Diego or Sacramento, CA, with full-time responsibilities spanning planning, fieldwork, and reporting.

The successful candidate will bring a CPA license, 7+ years in public accounting, and a proven ability to supervise teams, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver

Competenze

• Active CPA license required.
• 7+ years of progressive public accounting audit experience.
• 2+ years supervising teams and engagements.
• Experience with tribal governments and governmental entities.
• Strong knowledge of federal awards and Single Audit.

Mansioni

• Lead and manage audit, review, and attestation engagements for tribal clients.
• Oversee Tribal Single Audits and compliance engagements.
• Review workpapers and financial statements for quality and compliance.
• Supervise and develop senior staff.
• Maintain client relationships with clear communication.
• Coordinate engagement timelines, budgets, and staffing.
• Identify issues and provide practical recommendations.
• Support audit readiness and process improvements.
