Job summary

Brown Plus, a premier accounting and business advisory firm in Central PA and Maryland, seeks an Audit Manager – Government & Nonprofit to lead engagements, develop client relationships, and mentor staff for high-quality service to government and nonprofit clients.

You will own engagements from planning through completion, providing technical leadership, evaluating internal controls, and guiding teams to deliver timely, compliant audits across public sector clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license.
• 7+ years of public accounting experience.
• Experience with government and nonprofit audits.
• Knowledge of Single Audit requirements and GAGAS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage government and nonprofit audit engagements with oversight of audits, ensuring standards compliance.
• Oversee audit planning, internal control evaluations, financial statement reviews and client deliverables.
• Manage multiple engagements including scheduling, staffing, budgeting and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, lead meetings and communicate findings and recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and participate in proposals.
• Lead, mentor and develop audit team members through supervision and feedback.
• Collaborate with Firm leadership on engagement matters and staff development.
