CLA is seeking an Audit Director or Audit Manager to join our Carolantaville Professional Services Industry team. This in-office role can be based in Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• CPA license certification is required.
• 6+ years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee audit engagements for professional services clients, guiding teams through all phases with excellent client service.
• Plan, staff, budget, and execute engagements to ensure on-time, efficient delivery aligned with client expectations.
• Act as trusted advisor and decision-maker, communicating progress and recommendations to Principals and client leadership.
• Build and mentor high-performing teams, coaching and developing talent while managing performance.
• Foster strong client relationships by clarifying objectives, scope, timelines, and fees from start to finish.
• Review and enhance audit programs and internal controls, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Monitor engagement performance and budgets, identifying process improvements and value opportunities.
• Lead impactful client meetings, presenting findings and strategic insights for informed decisions.

As a key client advisor, you'll partner with professional services organizations to deliver audit services, provide business insights, and help clients navigate complex challenges with confidence.

How you'll create opportunities in this Audit Director or Manager role:

• Lead and oversee audit and assurance engagements for professional services clients, guiding teams through all phases of the engagement lifecycle while delivering exceptional client service and value.
• Drive engagement strategy, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and execution, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and aligned with client expectations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and key decision‑maker for client engagements, proactively communicating progress, recommendations, and significant developments to Engagement Principals and client leadership.
• Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams by recruiting top talent, providing coaching and technical guidance, managing performance, and supporting professional growth opportunities.
• Cultivate strong client relationships by discussing engagement objectives, scope, timelines, and fees, ensuring a seamless experience from engagement letter through final deliverables.
• Review and enhance audit programs and internal control evaluations, providing technical oversight and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
• Monitor engagement performance, budgets, and deadlines while identifying opportunities to improve processes, deliver insights, and create meaningful value for clients.
• Facilitate impactful client meetings, presenting findings, recommendations, and strategic insights that help organizations make informed business decisions.

What you will need:

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have a minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm, driving strategic management required.
• CPA license certification is required.
