CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) in Raleigh is seeking an Audit Director or Audit Manager to lead and oversee audit engagements for professional services clients, guiding teams through all phases of the engagement lifecycle with exceptional client service and value.

This in-office role requires a CPA license, 6+ years in a large firm, and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams while communicating progress and strategic insights to client leadership.

Qualifications

• CPA license certification is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee audit and assurance engagements for professional services clients, guiding teams through all phases of the engagement lifecycle while delivering exceptional client service and value.
• Drive engagement strategy, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and execution, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and aligned with client expectations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and key decision-maker for client engagements, proactively communicating progress, recommendations, and significant developments to Engagement Principals and client leadership.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams by recruiting top talent, providing coaching and technical guidance, managing performance, and supporting professional growth opportunities.
• Cultivate strong client relationships by discussing engagement objectives, scope, timelines, and fees, ensuring a seamless experience from engagement letter through final deliverables.
• Review and enhance audit programs and internal control evaluations, providing technical oversight and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
• Monitor engagement performance, budgets, and deadlines while identifying opportunities to improve processes, deliver insights, and create meaningful value for clients.
• Facilitate impactful client meetings, presenting findings, recommendations, and strategic insights that help organizations make informed business decisions.

This in-office role can be based in Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem. As a key client advisor, you'll partner with professional services organizations to deliver audit services, provide business insights, and help clients navigate complex challenges with confidence.

What You Will Need
