Job summary

Heard, McElroy & Vestal is seeking an experienced audit professional to oversee multiple client engagements in a full-time role in Texas. You will coordinate fieldwork, plan engagements, monitor budgets and timelines, and communicate complex accounting issues to clients and partners.

The ideal candidate has CPA credentials, at least six years of public accounting audit experience, and supervisory experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Accounting with strong academic track record.
• CPA certification required; six years current and/or recent public accounting audit experience required; supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between partners, directors, professional staff, and clients; manage multiple client engagements by scheduling, staffing and coordinating engagement workflow.
• Provide training and feedback to team members and develop relationships to generate new business for the firm.
• Exhibits technical knowledge to oversee fieldwork, plan engagements, monitor budgets and timelines, and review work papers.
• Communicate accounting pronouncements/standards impacts to clients and ensure engagement procedures meet professional requirements.
• Prepare workpapers, write audit reports, management letters, and other client deliverables.
• Monitor workload to meet billable hour targets and assist in staff development and mentoring.
