Our client, a well-respected CPA firm in Seattle, is looking for an Audit Manager to add to their team. This is a new position being added due to growth! It will be primarily remote, except for onsite jobs within the greater Seattle area throughout the year.

The Audit Manager leads and manages multiple tax engagements to deliver quality audit services for clients. The Manager must be able to assume full responsibility for large assignments falling within their expertise.

Job Summary:

The Manager will be assigned to clients for which they assume service and billing responsibility and represents the Firm’s goals and objectives in interactions with clients and staff.

• Participate in interviews with prospective clients

• Review working papers and reports for review, compliation, and audit engagements

• Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates knowledge of client business

• Prepares internal memos, written correspondence/guidance, private letter rulings and other documents for submission to the IRS or Treasury Department

• Trains staff, reviews and evaluates their work

• Manages multiple clients, billing responsibility and productions goals

• Participate in the Firm’s marketing activities and establish a network of referral sources

• Engage in outside activities that will promote the Firm’s image

Position Qualifications

• At minimum, Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration

• 6+ years prior experience in public accounting tax experience

• Significant supervisory experience, delegating and training staff (minimum 2 years)

• Strong accounting and analytical skills; recognized as a technical authority in a given area

• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software, Excel, and Word

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

• Demonstrate Firm loyalty with a positive attitude

Essential Job Functions:

Professional:

• Take responsibility for meeting assigned due dates, and monitoring time budgets on engagements

• Supervise the assignment of duties to, and the training of, personnel assigned to the engagement

• Maintian quality control over all reports, financial statements, income tax returns, and correspondence bearing the Firm’s name

• Proactive in finding solutions to technical audit related issues

• Develop expertise in a particular industry or service area

• Work well with all staff levels

• Participate in the development of Firm policies & procedures

• Participate in the management of the Firm

• Demonstrate stability under pressure

• Bill and collect at rate equal to or above the firm's acceptable realization rate

• Work approximately 1,500 chargeable hours per year with approximately 2,300 total hours per year

Technical:

• Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge and high level of analytical skills in all areas of expertise

• Provide technical staff leadership

• Resolve most problems prior to the submission of the working papers and return for final partner review

• Comply with all professional standards

• Help identify, evaluate and incorporate productivity and technology best practices throughout the firm

Practice Development:

• Acquire, develop and retain clients

• Meets or exceeds firm benchmarks for revenue generation

• Demonstrate leadership within a marketing team, developing service areas for clients and establishing a book of business

• Approach responsibility and dispose of problems in a manner that will insure the continued growth of the Firm

• Maintain frequent contact with clients throughout the year in order to improve or maintain client satisfaction

• Exhibit a positive Firm image in conduct with clients, business acquaintances and employees

• Mentor staff to help them identify their career goals, and assist in their practice development activities towards accomplishing their stated goals

• Develop ideas for new services based on your area of specialty or area of interest

• Participate in the annual performance evaluation process
