TEEMA Group is partnering with a well-established public accounting firm in the Washington, DC area to recruit an Audit Manager for a nonprofit–focused practice with select for‑profit clients. The role anchors client relationships, mentors staff, and leads engagements from planning through reporting.

The successful candidate will have 5–8 years of public accounting audit experience, nonprofit exposure, and a CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of public accounting audit experience.
• Experience working with nonprofit audit clients, along with exposure to for-profit clients.
• Experience leading audit engagements and supervising team members.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted auditing standards.
• Strong communication, organization, and client relationship skills.
• CPA license preferred.
• An interest in growing into a firm leadership role and pursuing a path to partnership.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements from planning through completion, primarily for nonprofit organizations and select for-profit clients.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients and build long-term relationships.
• Review financial statements, workpapers, and engagement deliverables.
• Identify accounting and audit issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and review the work of staff and senior auditors.
• Coordinate engagement schedules, deadlines, and team resources.
• Work closely with firm leadership on client service and the continued growth of the audit practice.
