Lauterbach & Amen, a well-established CPA firm in Naperville, seeks a full-time Audit Lead to join its Audit department. You will act as the primary day-to-day lead on engagements, coordinating planning, execution and wrap-up while maintaining client relations on site.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, documenting tests, reviewing staff workpapers, and training junior team members. Travel up to 80% around the Chicago suburbs is required, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• 2-6 years of audit experience.
• Pursuing CPA is a plus.
• Government or Non-profit audit experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% around Chicago suburbs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day on audit engagements, including planning and wrap-up.
• Perform risk assessments and tailor audit procedures.
• Document tests and findings with supporting docs.
• Review Associates' workpapers for accuracy and compliance.
• Train staff and answer technical questions on site.
• Serve as primary client liaison during fieldwork.
• Coordinate information requests and issue resolution with client management.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly.
