Job summary

Wipfli is seeking an accounting intern in Denver to assist on audit and accounting engagements. You will work closely with professionals across the firm, applying educational knowledge to real-world client work and developing GAAP competency under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an Accounting degree, with a GPA around 3.0 or higher, and are working toward CPA eligibility. This in-person internship offers hands-on experience and exposure to diverse clients and industries.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting (completion of corporate or individual taxation class is required)
• Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher
• Working toward eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation
• Data Analytics or Big Data coursework is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner
• Use data analysis skills to discover useful information and patterns to support recommendations
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
• Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures as directed
• Prepare (or review) financial statements and footnotes, management reports, and other outputs
• Develop technical competency with GAAP related to the assigned product line
• Support engagements as an individual contributor and team member
