DeLeon & Stang, CPAs & Advisors in Frederick, MD is seeking an Audit Intern for Spring 2027. This in‑office seasonal opportunity runs January–April 2027, inviting motivated accounting students to gain hands‑on audit experience on real client engagements.

As a member of the Audit team, you will assist with workpapers, internal control testing, and drafting of audit documents, while developing professional communication, organization, and time‑management skills.

Audit Intern - Spring 2027

We're looking for motivated accounting students to join our Audit team for the Spring 2027 season. Our interns are considered an integral part of the team and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced audit professionals on real client engagements.

This internship provides an opportunity to apply what you're learning in the classroom, develop practical accounting and audit skills, and gain a better understanding of what a career in public accounting looks like.

What You'll Do

• Assist with the preparation of audit workpapers and supporting documentation
• Assist with internal control testing across various industries
• Support the preparation and drafting of audit-related documents
• Communicate with engagement team members regarding assigned work and client matters
• Work within established deadlines and time budgets
• Learn and utilize the Firm's audit and accounting software, policies, procedures, and professional standards
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities
• Maintain the confidentiality of Firm and client information
• Develop professional communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Participate as an active member of the Audit team throughout the internship

What We're Looking For

• Current junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting; qualified students with relevant accounting coursework may also be considered
• Completion of foundational accounting coursework
• Interest in pursuing a career in accounting, audit, or public accounting
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Professional and positive attitude
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
• Availability to work approximately 20-25 hours per week during the January-April 2027 internship period
• Ability to work from our Frederick, MD office
