Job summary

Jobtailor in San Jose, CA seeks a driven accounting student for an audit support internship. You'll assist in performance and documentation of audit procedures, prepare workpapers, and communicate findings to the team. You’ll work both independently and as part of an engagement team, gaining hands-on experience with clients and industry matters.

Training and skill-building activities are provided. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a business/accounting program and pursuing CPA licensure

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s program in business with an emphasis in accounting.
• Plan to complete 150 semester/225 quarter unit requirement for CPA licensure eligibility between December 2027 – August 2028 strongly preferred.
• Demonstrates strong analytical skills in interpreting and communicating financial data while actively engaging with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the performance and documentation of audit procedures and preparation of workpapers to contribute to the completion of audit, review, and other engagements.
• Work as an individual contributor and as part of an engagement team to support client needs.
• Interpret and analyze financial data and communicate all findings and issues to the engagement team.
• Research and analyze pertinent client, industry, and technical matters.
• Engage with client personnel, as well as the engagement team to develop further relationships.
• Gain hands-on experience alongside professionals at all levels in public accounting.
• Participate in trainings and activities to boost skills and engagement.
