Job summary

Withum in Chicago is seeking dedicated accounting graduates to join the Audit team as part of the November 2027 class. You will gain hands-on experience in financial statement audits and internal control evaluations across diverse industries under supervision of managers and partners.

Candidates should have a degree in accounting, a 3.0+ GPA, strong communication, and be prepared for Excel and audit software usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• 150 credit hours and internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements.
• Evaluate internal control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with GAAS.
• Prepare detailed workpapers to support audit procedures.
• Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures on financial data.
• Contribute to larger audit engagements and take ownership of smaller ones as your skills grow.

Withum is seeking accounting majors graduating in the upcoming academic year to join our Audit team as part of the November 2027 class. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced audit professionals and gain hands‑on experience infinancial statement audits, internal control evaluations, and client engagements across a broad range of industries.

What You'll Do:

As part of a team supervised by a Manager or Partner, you may:

• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements

• Evaluate internal control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with GAAS through inquiry, observation, and review

• Prepare detailed workpapers to support audit procedures

• Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures on financial data

• Contribute to larger audit engagements and take ownership of smaller ones as your skills grow

• Communicate with clients to gather information and clarify audit issues

• Use audit software and data analytics tools to enhance audit quality and efficiency

• Take on miscellaneous tasks as assigned

The kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:

• Preferred: 150 credit hours and prior internship experience with a public accounting firm

The compensation for this position ranges from $62,000 to $90,000 based on location. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to the base compensation,Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
