Job summary

Jobtailor in Missouri seeks an experienced Audit Manager to lead multiple engagements, review financial statements, and ensure adherence to US GAAP and auditing standards. You will mentor staff and seniors, manage budgets and deadlines, and strengthen client relationships across manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, and professional services sectors.

Strong communication and leadership are essential; CPA license is required.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of progressive audit experience in public accounting.
• Currently performing at the Manager level.
• CPA license required.
• Experience leading audit engagements in private company industries, including manufacturing, automotive, distribution, real estate and construction, healthcare, or professional services.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet restrictive deadlines.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and client service skills.
• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
• Preferred: experience in a national or Big 4 public accounting firm.
• Preferred: exposure to multiple private company industries beyond a single core specialty.
• Preferred: experience mentoring and developing Staff and Senior-level professionals.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and complete multiple audit engagements simultaneously
• Monitor project budgets, manage workflow, and ensure timely and efficient execution under tight deadlines
• Review workpapers and financial statements for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to professional standards
• Understand clients' operations, industry dynamics, and business objectives
• Engage with clients about emerging needs, concerns, and strategic priorities
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional services or innovative solutions
• Lead, mentor, and develop audit Seniors and Staff
• Delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability for engagement quality and deadlines
• Provide coaching and real-time feedback to support technical development and career progression
• Improve audit processes and enhance engagement efficiency
• Support Partners in expanding relationships within existing client accounts
• Contribute to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
