Citrin Cooperman in Chicago is seeking an Audit Senior to join our Audit department. You will oversee audits, reviews, and compilations, ensuring adherence to GAAP and GAAS while guiding planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up.

You’ll lead engagements, mentor staff, and cultivate strong client relationships, staying current on industry developments. Strong communication, organization, and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required; CPA preferred.
• CPA eligibility preferably with 150 credit hours or equivalent.
• Public accounting experience is required, with a focus on audits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audit, review, and compilation procedures including tests of controls and substantive testing.
• Coordinate planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up to ensure timely, quality engagements.
• Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion.
• Mentor, train, and supervise staff while maintaining client relationships.
• Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and clients; stay current on GAAP/GAAS.
• Engage in professional development to enhance technical skills.

As an Audit Senior you will be responsible for:Conduct audit, review, and compilation procedures including testing of controls, substantive testing, and analytical procedures, to evaluate the accuracy and completeness of financial information.Coordinate day-to-day duties, including planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up, ensuring seamless execution.Demonstrate a deep understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS).Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Mentor, train, and supervise staff.Effectively communicate and cultivate collaborative and professional relationships with peers, supervisors, and clients through positive interactions and responsiveness.Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in auditing practices.Participate in professional development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA or obtain 150 credit hours for CPA eligibility preferredMinimum 2 years of experience with a public accounting firm requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on client responsivenessStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesDemonstrated teamwork and leadership skillsAbility to excel both independently and collaborativelyDetail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and qualityOutstanding analytical, organizational, and project management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office ApplicationsKnowledge of Caseware/Caseview is a plus
