Job summary

MBE CPAs is seeking an Audit / Assurance Associate to support the audit team in examining client financial records for GAAP compliance and firm standards. Entry-level to 1–2 years of public accounting experience is ideal, with opportunities to build a strong audit foundation and grow within the firm.

You will assist with engagements, analyze financials, and learn audit methodologies while collaborating with seniors and managers to ensure accurate, efficient engagements.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of audit or public accounting experience (internship welcomed).
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA eligible or intent to pursue CPA preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Candidates willing to work onsite preferred, but hybrid work may be considered based on experience and location.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with audit engagements, including testing, documentation, and preparation of workpapers.
• Analyzing client financial records to identify potential accounting issues and escalating findings to senior team members.
• Learning and applying audit methodologies, standards, and firm procedures.
• Working closely with Audit Seniors and Managers to complete engagements efficiently and accurately.
• Communicating with clients as directed and providing a professional, positive experience.
• Building foundational knowledge of clients' businesses and industries.
