Job summary

Legacy Professionals LLP in Edina, MN invites applications for an Audit Associate. The role supports experienced auditors in examining financial statements, controls and accounting systems, with opportunities to work on client locations and Legacy offices in a hybrid setup.

The ideal candidate has an accounting degree and CPA eligibility (or 2 years public accounting experience), a strong academic record, and excellent analytical/communication skills. Travel to client sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree with eligibility to sit for the CPA exam (generally 120 hours).
• Strong academic record in accounting principles.
• Public accounting internship or prior public accounting experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examining financial statements, internal controls and accounting systems.

Auditors will have the opportunity to work from client locations, Legacy offices and remotely, as scheduling allows.Job Responsibilities:As an Audit Associate, you will be an integral part of our Audit team. You will be assisting the experienced Auditors in the examination of financial statements, internal controls and accounting systems. Your responsibilities will include:Participating in audit planning and risk assessment activitiesConducting substantive testing and analytical procedures on client financial informationDocumenting audit work and findings in accordance with firm standardsCollaborating with team members, including Managers and Partners, to complete audit engagements within established timeframesAssisting in the preparation of audit reports and recommendations for clientsContributing to the continuous improvement of audit processes and methodologiesQualifications:Accounting degree with the academic qualifications to sit for the CPA exam (generally 120 hours minimum) or 2 years public accounting experienceStrong academic record with a solid understanding of accounting principlesPrior public Accounting work or internship experience is desirableExcellent analytical and technical skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant softwareDetail-oriented with a commitment to accuracyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsMust have reliable transportation in order to drive to client locations for audit assignments.
