Events & Venues at the George Washington University, part of the Safety & Facilities Division, designs, produces, and manages campus events on the Foggy Bottom Campus. We serve diverse clients, providing spaces for events, meetings, and gatherings that showcase university traditions and host notable speakers, earning local, national, and international recognition. We are seeking temporary AV Technicians for part-time, on-call roles, which may include nights and weekends. Responsibilities include operating AV equipment, editing presentation materials, maintaining video equipment, supervising crew, assisting other departments, and recommending upgrades. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with at least 1 year of AV or IT support experience. Degree can be substituted with equivalent education, training, and experience.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Keynote, Adobe Premiere or similar video editing software, Microsoft Office, and basic computer programs is preferred.
This part-time, on-call role reports to the Foggy Bottom Campus and requires working nights and weekends. It does not allow telework. The position is open until filled, with review starting from 10/01/2024. Successful hire requires background screening.
