Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Audiology Assistant in Sheboygan, WI to support audiologists in patient care. You will assist with hearing aid repairs, programming and patient counseling, and manage routine office operations.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• COHC certification to be obtained within 2 years.
• BLS certification to be obtained within 0 months unless department leader says not required.
• Audiology Assistant Certification to be obtained within 1 year.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patients using techniques to perform minor hearing aid repairs, cleanings and programming.
• Sends hearing aids out for difficult or extensive repair.
• Orders new hearing aids for patients as directed by audiologist.
• Assists audiologist in direct patient care as needed per site.
• Communicates with audiologist and health care team.
• Documents and communicates accurate patient information.
• Performs occupational health hearing tests and counseling per site requirements.
• Provides office support: scheduling, exam rooms, stocking supplies, referrals and authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patients using appropriate techniques and procedures to perform minor hearing aid repairs, cleanings and programming
• Sends hearing aids out for difficult or extensive repair
• Orders new hearing aids for patients as directed by audiologist
• Assists audiologist in direct patient care as needed per site
• Communicates with audiologist and other members of the health care team
• Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient questions and needs
• Performs occupational health hearing tests and counseling per site requirements
• Provides office support, including scheduling appointments, organizing/preparing exam rooms, cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, checking equipment, managing referrals and prior authorizations and processing work queues

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) certification issued by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) to be obtained within 2 years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 0 months unless not required by department leader
• Audiology Assistant Certification (either from Nova Southwestern University or ASHA) to be obtained within 1 year
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products, electronic mail and electronic medical records systems
