Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as an Audiologistwith our Audiologyteam at our Hyde Park - DCAM location. In this role you will partner with the rest of the clinical team to provide patients the highest quality of care. Our expert team is specially trained to treat everything from mild hearing loss to complex ear conditions. With our dedication to world-class ear and hearing health care, ongoing advancements in medicine, and providing education for the public and aspiring health professionals, we set the standard for excellent care.

The Audiology Technician II supports a variety of tasks, exams and/or testing procedures under the supervision of an audiologist or physician. The Technician I is expected to manage and maintain support of applicable equipment, document test results, collect documentation and information for upcoming visits in the department, along with assist with administrative tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knowledge and a basic understanding of hearing loss and effect of a hearing loss.
  • Knowledge of Audiology equipment, materials and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer equipment and software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and desktop publishing.
  • Knowledge of basic math concepts, simple record keeping and record management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skills to manage and use time effectively.
  • Ability to comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences, Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field; Medical assistant; or equivalent degree (can optionally include medical training in another country).
  • Hands-on working experience in the capacity of an audiology assistant, newborn hearing screening technician, and/or oto-technician for a minimum of 5 years in a high-volume and fast-paced environment

In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the day shift, between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park DCAM Clinic. The days of the week that you are scheduled will be Monday - Friday.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
