Job summary

VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking a Hearing Tech Assistant within the Audiology and Speech Pathology Service. The role supports hearing aids checks, repair coordination, and prosthetic device management in various clinical areas.

The position requires 6 months of related experience or equivalent educational pathways, with GS-7 grade potential and opportunity to mentor HTAs and assist with advanced testing procedures.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience or equivalent education.
• Two academic years above high school, or an associate/bachelor with 12 semester hours in related courses.
• Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalence to U.S. programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and auditory checks of hearing aids and assistive technology.
• Repair or return hearing aids to the factory.
• Restore hearing aid or assistive technology settings after repair or replacement.
• Order, register, certify, issue, and track prosthetic devices.
