Qualifications

• AuD and/or PhD or EdD in audiology, hearing science, or closely related field.
• ABD candidates will be considered depending on qualifications.
• ASHA Certification in audiology (CCC-A) and state licensure readiness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Doctor of Audiology curriculum.
• Develop a line of research and scholarly activity.
• Serve on university/college/school committees.
• Mentor students and/or faculty members.
• Teach undergraduate Speech and Hearing Sciences courses as needed.
• Provide clinical supervision for doctoral audiology students and support community services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

TheUniversity ofSouthern Mississippi Schoolof Speech and HearingSciences, a CAA-accredited program, invites applicants for a nine-month,Assistant Professor, tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2026, withan earlier start date negotiable. Salary iscommensuratewithqualifications and experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach academic coursework in the Doctor of Audiology curriculum.
• Develop a line of research/scholarly activity.
• Serve on University/College/School committees.
• Serve as mentor to students and/or faculty members.
• Teach courses in the undergraduate Speech and Hearing Sciences program as needed.
• The incumbent candidate will developa viableline of researchactivities that result in national presentations and refereed publications,provide academic instruction at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and theopportunity to provide clinical supervision for doctoral-level audiologystudents, and provide services to the University community.
• Perform other dutiesas assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Au.D and/orPh.D. or EdD inaudiology, hearing scienceora closely related professional field. Will consider ABD candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

Includeexpertise and/or extensive experience in one or more of the following areas:amplification, hearing science, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic audiology,vestibular assessment, electrophysiology, psychoacoustics, cochlear implants,educational audiology, pediatric audiology, or pediatric amplification.Particular weight is placed on candidates with experience in vestibularassessment and demonstrated ability and comfort in teaching vestibular-focusedcourses. ASHA certification in audiology (CCC-A) and the capability to meetstate licensing requirements in Audiology is preferred.
