Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a Staff Audiologist to join our multidisciplinary Audiology and ENT team in a hospital setting. The role provides comprehensive diagnostic services for patients across the lifespan, emphasizing evidence-based, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, be clinically adept, and collaborate with otolaryngology and pediatric teams to ensure quality care in a dynamic medical environment.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology (MA/MS, AuD, or PhD).
• Current New York State Audiology License (or eligibility).
• ASHA CCC-A or ABA certification preferred.
• Experience with pediatric and adult populations strongly preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric rotations are welcome.
• Strong diagnostic skills and comfort working in a medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic Evaluations — Perform age-appropriate hearing assessments including behavioral audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, otoacoustic emissions, and electrophysiologic measures (ABR, ASSR).
• Newborn Hearing Screening & Follow-Up — Conduct screenings and diagnostic evaluations for infants referred from the hospital’s newborn hearing program.
• Electrophysiologic & Specialized Testing — Complete diagnostic ABR/ASSR evaluations across the lifespan; support vestibular assessments as part of ENT services (training available).
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Partner with otolaryngologists, pediatric specialists, speech-language pathologists, and other clinical teams to coordinate care.
• Patient & Family Counseling — Provide clear, developmentally appropriate education regarding hearing status, communication strategies, and follow-up recommendations.
• Clinical Documentation & Compliance — Maintain accurate EMR documentation and adhere to hospital, state, and professional standards.

Position Summary

• Experience with electrophysiologic testing (ABR/ASSR).
• Familiarity with cochlear implant candidacy evaluations (training provided).
• Strong interpersonal communication and counseling skills.
