Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a licensed Audiologist to provide hearing assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning across eastern Massachusetts locations.

The role includes fitting amplification devices, counseling, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Strong clinical skills and patient-centered care are essential for improving hearing outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Audiology or Master's in audiology.
  • Massachusetts license in audiology.
  • CCC-A certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hearing exams (audiograms) and tests (VNG, vHit) to identify hearing loss and balance disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans including amplification and counseling.
  • Select and fit hearing protection devices.
  • Document patient history and prepare reports after visits.
  • Collaborate with the care team across practice locations.

Education

Doctor of Audiology or Master's in audiology
Massachusetts license in audiology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) or eligibility

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosis & Assessment: Conduct hearing exams (audiograms) and other tests such as video nystagmography (VNG) and Video Head Impulse Test (vHit) for pediatric and adult patients to identify the type and severity of hearing loss, balance disorders, and tinnitus
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans, which can include fitting
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans, including the recommendation of appropriate amplification/assistive listening devices, tinnitus counseling, and/or review of communication strategies
  • Hearing Protection: Select and fit custom musician, swim, and sleep plugs
  • Case History and Report Writing: Obtain comprehensive case history through patient interview and/or review of medical records and prepare a written report of each visit to document patient care

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Audiology or Master's in audiology
  • Certified or certification eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association
  • State of Massachusetts license in audiology
Preferred Qualifications:
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • New Grad encouraged to apply
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • 3+ years of professional experience working with the hearing impaired of various age
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment.
  • Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
