Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Performs other special duties and shares responsibility for skill development.
  • Demonstrates service excellence toward patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
  • Maintains test equipment and reports malfunctions promptly.
  • Administers routine Audiology tests and interprets findings.
  • Evaluates test results and manages patient care accordingly.
  • Demonstrates competence in at least 5 tests beyond the basic battery.
  • Performs additional hearing‑aid related services.
  • Contributes to didactic instruction or supervision of students/residents.
  • Participates in at least one public hearing screening or similar outreach program.
  • Selects appropriate hearing aids and provides counseling on use.
  • Participates in clinical research projects with data collection and reporting.

UPMC ENT is hiring an Audiologist to support its clinic at 3124 Wilmington Rd, Suite 305, New Castle, PA 16105. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive audiologic evaluations, diagnostic testing, and patient-centered care for individuals with hearing and balance disorders. This position offers a Monday through Friday daylight schedule and requires strong teamwork, communication, and clinical expertise. There may be occasional collaboration with the Audiologist at the Hermitage office to support patient care and operational needs across locations.


Responsibilities


  • Performs other special duties: it is generally expected that an audiologist will develop some special skill and share this skill by accepting a special responsibility.


  • Demonstrates basics of service excellence towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians, and other departments.


  • Sees that test equipment he/she uses is well maintained by being observant of signs of malfunctioning and reporting problems to the Senior Audiologist, Director, or service contractor (if appropriate).


  • Administration of routine Audiology tests.


  • Interpretation of test findings and management.


  • The audiologist shall demonstrate competence in administering no less than 5 tests beyond the basic audiologic test battery.


  • Performs additional hearing-aid related services.


  • The audiologist is expected to contribute to no less than two hours per year of didactic instruction to medical students or residents or ten hours per year of supervision of residents or Audiology Students.


  • The audiologist is expected to participate in no less than one public hearing screening program per year or other extramural public relation program of similar time commitment.


  • Using appropriate test methods, selects appropriate hearing aids for potential or known wearers, evaluates success with use of instrument, and provides counseling in the use of the instrument.


  • Takes part in clinical research projects as requested by the Director. Responsible for data collection, analysis, and written descriptions.


  • Master's degree or AUD (clinical doctorate).


  • Audiology State License in the practicing state (20 hours of continuing education every two years).


  • Audiologists maintain privileges at all satellite hospitals and maintain provider privileges (including Medicare UPIN #'s) for all accepted insurance productsLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Audiology State License in the practicing state.
