Job Summary

Responsible for all Audiology Testing in the UMG Greenville ENT Facility. Responsible for the Diagnostic Testing on ENT Patients to determine extent of hearing capability or disability. Also assist with the documentation and patient interaction with regards to diagnostic testing, assessment, and plan. Complete documentation and proper encounter forms to assure correct and prompt billings.

Accountabilities

  • Examine patients who have conditions related to the outer, middle, or inner ear.
  • Assess the results of the examination and diagnose problems efficiently and accurately.
  • Create appropriate and thorough treatment plans to meet patients’ goals.
  • Proficient with hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
  • Counsel patients and their families on test results, recommendations, communication strategies, and hearing loss prevention.
  • Evaluate patients regularly to monitor their condition and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Record patient progress and complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Research the causes and treatment of hearing and balance disorders when applicable.
  • Educate patients on ways to prevent hearing loss.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment in all issues of healthcare including proper referrals and follow-up care.
  • Uphold the standard of professionalism and remain dedicated to clinical excellence.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by hospital or clinical requirements.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Education

Doctorate - Audiology

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

LICENSED AUDIOLOGIST - C050

Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)

Au.D South Carolina state board of Labor, Licensing, and Regulations

Other Required Experience

Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology - Preferred
