Job summary

Keystone Health’s Pediatric Developmental Center seeks a Pediatric Audiologist to join our team, delivering compassionate care to ages 0–21. The role encompasses diagnostic testing, fittings, counseling, and rehabilitation services in a dedicated pediatric program.

Responsibilities include patient evaluation, record-keeping, and collaboration with family, physicians, and staff to maximize outcomes. A Doctoral degree in Audiology and required certifications are essential.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology; completion of clinical skills and passing national exam.
  • ASHA or ABN certification (or equivalent) and current CPR (BLS) certification.
  • Valid, unrestricted state license where applicable (Pennsylvania noted in ad).

Responsibilities

  • Define hearing impairment and select appropriate electrophysiological tests; operate diagnostic equipment and interpret results.
  • Fit hearing aids and assistive devices; provide auditory training and counseling to patients and families.
  • Maintain patient records with evaluations, progress and treatments.
  • Improve processes and participate in research and evaluation of new equipment/techniques.
  • Conduct hearing loss screening programs to provide education and evaluations.
  • Maintain supplies inventory and ensure proper stock levels.
  • Adhere to federal, state and local regulations and professional standards.
  • Update knowledge by following trends and continuing education.
  • Contribute to organizational goals by taking ownership of new requests.

Pediatric Audiologist Position Keystone Pediatric Developmental Center (A specialized program of Keystone Health) is continuing to expand our pediatric therapy program. We are pleased to announce a full-time opening in our Audiologist department. If you are an Audiologist who is passionate about helping individuals with disabilities achieve their maximum potential, this is an excellent opportunity to use your skills to make a difference in the lives of individuals ages 0-21.

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following functions or tasks.
  • 1. Defines patient hearing impairment by conferring with referring physician; selecting and administering electrophysiological and other relevant tests; operating diagnostic equipment; determining type and degree of hearing impairment and effects on comprehension and speech; interpreting audiometric diagnostic data; preparing written diagnostic reports.
  • 2. Provides treatments by fitting hearing aids and other assistive devices; conducting auditory training and instruction in speech and lip reading; counseling patients and families; conducting programs in aural rehabilitation; guiding technical staff.
  • 3. Maintains patient records by recording and updating evaluations, changes, progress and treatments.
  • 4. Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; participating in research programs; evaluating new equipment, devices and techniques.
  • 5. Provides auditory evaluations and education by conducting hearing loss screening programs.
  • 6. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • 7. Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state and local regulations, and professional standards.
  • 8. Updates job knowledge by tracking trends in new techniques and approaches; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • 9. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are the minimum acceptable levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities that a job incumbent must possess to perform the essential duties in a satisfactory manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate of an accredited program obtaining a Doctoral degree in Audiology.
  • Have completed the required clinical skills and passed the national exam.
LICENSES and CERTIFICATION:
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certification or American Board of Audiology Certification.
  • Valid, unrestricted license for Pennsylvania.
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification.
