An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a dedicated Audiologist to join their Audiology and Speech Pathology Service. This role involves planning and conducting diagnostic evaluations and treatments for hearing impairments and balance disorders. This position is located in the Audiology and Speech Pathology Service at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN. The duties and responsibilities are carried out throughout the medical center including all clinical and other patient care areas involved with the service. The audiologist at this level plans, conducts, and coordinates all aspects of diagnostic evaluation and treatment of hearing impairment and/or balance disorders.
The Audiologist at this level plans, conducts, and coordinates all aspects of diagnostic evaluation and treatment of hearing impairment and/or balance disorders. The incumbent at this grade level must demonstrate professional knowledge of, and skill in applying, a wide range of theories, principles, and methodologies of the practice of audiology to a wide range of populations. The incumbent is an independent licensed practitioner and is considered to be at the full performance level. Major duties include but are not limited to:

Basic Requirements:
NOTE: Effective January 1, 2007, the CAA in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of ASHA accredits only doctoral degree or AUD programs in audiology.
Licensure: Individuals must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice audiology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria).
NOTE: This grandfathering provision is not intended to regularize appointments/ placements.

5 years experience. Participating in hearing aid fittings, exams, servicing hearing aids and student supervision.

The full performance level of this vacancy is GS12.
