Job summary

Vista Innovative Solutions (VIS) seeks an experienced Audiologist to support USAFSAM, 711 HPW, and DoW at Wright-Patterson AFB. You will conduct diagnostic audiology testing, provide consultations, and advance hearing conservation initiatives.

The role includes education, data reporting, and collaboration with DoW and base-level stakeholders to improve surveillance and research outcomes. A Au.D. and board certification are required.

Qualifications

• Au.D. degree and board certification in Audiology.
• 15+ years of experience in audiology; military/occupational hearing conservation preferred.
• Experience with audiometric testing and electrophysiology testing.
• Knowledge of Hearing Conservation Program and USAFSAM/PHR processes.
• Current HIPAA, STINFO, and CITI trainings.
• Ability to meet Tier 1 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical diagnostic support.
• Conduct diagnostic audiological evaluations incl. pure tone, immittance, speech, OAEs, and electrophysiology.
• Provide audiology consultation and records review for Hearing Conservation Program.
• Deliver hearing conservation education and training at USAFSAM and sites.

Job description

Vista Innovative Solutions (VIS) is seeking an experienced Audiologist to provide audiology support to aid in the mission accomplishment of the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), and DoW at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The Audiologist will provide clinical diagnostic, hearing conservation, research, education, training, and consultative support in furtherance of the USAFSAM hearing conservation mission.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide clinical diagnostic support.
• Conduct diagnostic clinical audiological evaluations, including pure tone audiometry, immittance, speech, otoacoustic emission, and electrophysiology testing for virtual and/or telehealth-related activities.
• Provide clinical audiology consultation and records review as needed for the Hearing Conservation Program and aeromedical consult service within USAFSAM.
• Provide hearing conservation education and training at USAFSAM and during site visits.
• Propose, support, and present research efforts related to hearing conservation.
• Provide audiology support to the USAFSAM Epidemiology Consult Service Division (PHR).
• Provide functional and consultative support to USAFSAM/PHR on investigations and data requests related to the Hearing Conservation Program.
• Contribute to field units through active participation in professional conferences, publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Perform data collection and analysis and provide written or verbal reports, including ad hoc reporting in support of USAFSAM/PHR’s hearing conservation mission.
• Collaborate regularly with other DoW components to report issues, suggest solutions, and support hearing conservation best practices related to DOEHRS-HC/DR.
• Assist USAFSAM/PHR during collaborative efforts to increase data-sharing capabilities and surveillance partnerships with base-level users and other principal stakeholders in USAFSAM/PHR surveillance systems.
• Provide field, education and training, and research support.

What You Bring:

Required:

• 15+ years of experience.
• Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree.
• Board certification in Audiology through the American Association of Audiology, American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, or American Board of Audiology.
• At least two years of knowledge and experience in military audiology and/or occupational hearing conservation and prevention programs and clinical care.
• Experience providing general computer application support related to audiometers, audiometer accessories, audiometer software, and hearing conservation-related databases.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.
• Current Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training to access and process identified medical data.
• Current Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) training.
• Current Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training.
• Ability to meet Tier 1 requirements.

Preferred:

• Experience in clinical research.
• Experience with data management and analysis.
• Experience with research reporting and publishing.
