Job description

As a VHS Audiologist (1099), you will provide audiological evaluations for Veterans in assigned facilities across the US. We are seeking a professional and patient-focused Audiologist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audiology and be adept at treating, diagnosing, and assisting with hearing recovery or loss. The focus of the role will be to test, assess, diagnose and treat patients with hearing or balance issues, to ensure they have the best quality of hearing that is achievable for them. You will help more people hear better by providing clinical expertise to diagnose and treat hearing loss while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examines patients experiencing ear, hearing, and/or other related problems.
  • Performs and interprets diagnostic tests, including audiometry evaluations.
  • Completes ear-related procedures as needed.
  • Fit and dispense hearing aids.
  • Develops treatment plans and helps patients with aural rehabilitation.
  • Suggests specific hearing assistive technology (HATS) to patients.
  • Updates electronic health records (HER).
  • Follows all medical laws, guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Helps public and private organizations improve accessibility.
Requirements
  • AuD or Master’s degree in audiology, active audiology license, and at least 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Ability to communicate with patients about sensitive topics.
  • Ability to work with other medical professionals as needed to diagnose and treat patients.
  • Ability to apply medical knowledge to patient cases to treat and diagnose each case.
