Job summary

Cardone Ventures is seeking an AV Technician to deliver a seamless, high‑quality audiovisual experience for live events, internal meetings, and digital productions. This onsite role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, with weekend availability.

Based in Scottsdale, AZ, you will configure, test, and maintain equipment, support live streaming, and ensure branding consistency.

  • 2+ years in live AV production or corporate events.
  • Experience with Blackmagic, Sennheiser, and audio mixers.
  • Familiarity with macOS and Windows; Tricaster, OBS, or vMix is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY
The AV Technician plays a vital role in delivering a seamless, high‑quality audiovisual experience during live events, internal meetings, and digital productions. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in high‑pressure, fast‑paced environments. The ideal candidate will be flexible, solution‑oriented, and capable of managing live AV systems with confidence and professionalism. Must be available to work 2–3 weekends per month with compensatory days off during the week.

OBJECTIVES
  • Ensure flawless execution of live audio and video systems, including consoles, switchers, projectors, LED walls, and cameras during events.
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve real‑time technical issues with minimal disruption to event flow or production quality.
  • Prepare, configure, and test all AV equipment to ensure operational integrity prior to all events and productions.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and maintain AV equipment post‑event to ensure longevity and reliability.
  • Guarantee all AV elements meet Cardone Ventures’ quality standards and visual/audio branding expectations.
  • Support live streaming and recording workflows, ensuring smooth output for in‑person and remote attendees.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of setups and manage inventory of AV equipment, cables, and accessories.
  • Work closely with producers, content teams, and facility staff to align technical execution with creative intent.
  • Follow safety protocols and secure AV installations to prevent accidents and damage.
  • Stay up to date with AV technology trends and bring forward recommendations for improvement.
COMPETENCIES
  • Expert troubleshooting of audio, video, and signal‑routing issues under pressure.
  • Proficiency with audio consoles, microphones, in‑ear monitors, and speaker systems in a live environment.
  • Skilled in operating ATEM, Tricaster, and Streamdeck systems for real‑time video switching.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal paths and routing (HDMI, SDI, XLR, Dante, NDI).
  • Ability to execute AV setups accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Remains composed and solution‑focused during last‑minute changes and high‑stress moments.
  • Works effectively with cross‑functional teams and communicates clearly with non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ensures polished, consistent presentation of AV elements aligned with brand standards.
  • Maintains professionalism and responsiveness in front of clients, owners, and executives.
  • Anticipates technical needs and prevents issues before they arise.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in AV, broadcasting, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in live AV production, broadcast, or corporate event support.
  • Experience with AV equipment such as Blackmagic Design, Sennheiser, Audio mixers..
  • Familiarity with MacOS and Windows platforms, plus experience with Tricaster, OBS, or vMix is beneficial.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending during equipment setup and breakdown
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working on ladders and elevated platforms
  • Ability to work in dim lighting, loud environments, and fast‑paced event conditions
  • May require occasional travel for off‑site event support
  • Must be on-site at our Scottsdale, AZ office; this is not a remote role
