The AV Systems Technician ensures the optimal functioning of audio-visual systems across the casino, hotel, event, and back-of-house spaces. Responsibilities include configuring, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and providing user support. The technician reports to the AV Supervisor and collaborates with the team to maintain system performance, always prioritizing guest service and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, install, troubleshoot, repair, and support AV systems and peripherals such as PCs, speakers, LED displays, TVs, amplifiers, RF equipment, network hardware, cabling, control systems, IPTV, fiber optics, digital signage, and AV software.
- Set up and operate advanced television and audio systems.
- Maintain AV equipment inventory and manage replacements or requests.
- Support back-of-house AV for conference and training rooms.
- Assist with special event AV systems, entertainment, marketing, and media systems.
- Adhere to non-uniform appearance standards while on duty.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies through reading and training.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Ensure safety and security for all guests, staff, and entertainers.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Self-directed with responsibility-taking ability.
- Capable of working under time constraints in a dynamic environment.
- Strong time management skills.
- Effective independent and team working abilities.
- Experience with AV setup and maintenance.
- Ability to install and maintain hardware.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of AV control systems and IPTV.
- Preferred: Experience with Q-SYS, Coriomaster, networked AV, or CTS certification.
Must-Haves:
- Technical degree or certification preferred.
- 1-2 years' AV experience.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in environments with alcohol and smoking.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licensure.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and push up to 80 lbs.
- Stand for up to 4 hours.
- Work in confined spaces and from ladders at heights of 8-12 feet.
- Bend and reach above head.
