Job summary

Bluum is seeking an Audio Visual Project Engineer – Integration to join our Phoenix team. This role blends AV system design, engineering, client engagement and project management to deliver high-quality integrated AV solutions.

You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, customers, vendors and contractors from initial client discussions to project completion, ensuring technically robust and scalable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of AV project management, installation, and/or engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling five years may be considered.
• PMP and CTS certifications are a plus and candidates may be expected to pursue them.

Responsibilities

• Sales, Client Engagement & System Design.
• Conduct client needs assessments and partner with Sales to recommend AV solutions.
• Provide technical consultation and support to clients throughout the sales cycle.
• Prepare and present completed proposals to clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Design and specify AV equipment and integrated systems.
• Develop detailed project scopes of work, BOMs, and equipment lists.
• Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements.
• Ensure designs meet client needs and are feasible and scalable.
• Manage project progress, timelines, budgets and deliverables.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors/contractors.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Forecasting, billing and project closeout activities.

Job Details

Bluum is looking for an experienced Audio Visual Project Engineer – Integration to join our team in Phoenix. This role combines AV system design, engineering, client engagement, and project management.

You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, customers, vendors, and contractors to design and deliver high-quality integrated AV solutions. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects from initial client discussions through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales, Client Engagement & System Design
• Conduct client needs assessments and partner with the Sales team to recommend appropriate products and AV solutions.
• Provide technical consultation and support to clients throughout the sales cycle.
• Prepare and present completed proposals to clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Design and specify AV equipment and integrated systems.
• Develop detailed project scopes of work, equipment lists, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct site surveys and assess technical and installation requirements.
• Ensure system designs meet client needs and are technically feasible and scalable.

Project Management

• Manage project progress, timelines, budgets, and deliverables using project management software.
• Coordinate with internal teams, including Engineering, Sales, and Delivery, as well as external vendors, contractors, and customers.
• Identify and mitigate potential project risks.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate and document project changes as needed.
• Maintain accurate project tracking and internal reporting documentation.
• Complete required forecasting, billing, and project closeout activities.

Additional Responsibilities

• Stay current on AV technologies, products, and industry trends.
• Maintain detailed and accurate project documentation.
• Provide basic system training to customers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required to support successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and professional emails.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision while handling challenging or escalating situations calmly and professionally.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and mark up blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions presented in written, mathematical, or diagram form.
• Proficiency in AV system design and integration.
• Familiarity with AV design software such as AutoCAD and D-Tools.
• Knowledge of relevant AV control and DSP systems, including Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Biamp.

Required Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of direct AV project management, installation, and/or engineering experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling five years may be considered in place of the preferred degree.
• PMP certification is a plus. Candidates will be expected to pursue PMP certification as a condition of employment for this position.
• CTS certification preferred; CTS-I or CTS-D certification is also beneficial. Candidates will be expected to pursue CTS certification within six months of hire as a condition of employment.
• Knowledge of audio/video systems, including video projection, production, switching and distribution, distributed audio, professional audio, audio and video conferencing systems, integrated control systems, and AV installation methods.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project scheduling software required.
