Apple seeks a Tools & Automation Engineer to build automated test infrastructure for ASAF and APAC deliverables across audio plugins, SDKs, command line tools, and encoders used in Apple software.
You will design automated regression suites, integrate them into CI, and develop scripted validation for end-to-end authoring workflows used by mixers and post-production teams. Collaboration with codec teams and external developers is essential.
Imagine what you could do here! At Apple, new insights have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Do you bring passion and dedication to your job? If so, we are looking for individuals like you. The Media, Graphics Compute Technologies team provides the audio, video, and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPod, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, iTunes, and macOS, as well as professional and consumer applications from Final Cut, Logic and iWork.
As a Tools & Automation Engineer, you'll build the automated test infrastructure that safeguards the full portfolio of Apple Spatial Audio Format (ASAF) and Apple Positional Audio Codec (APAC) software deliverables: from audio plug-ins and SDKs that live inside third-party professional applications, to command line tools, to encoders that ship as part of Apple's operating systems, to applications deployed in live production environments. You will design and implement automated regression suites, integrate them into CI, and develop the scripted validation that verifies correct output across every release, covering both individual components and the complete authoring workflows that mixers and post-production teams depend on. Alongside automated testing, working directly with the tools and critical listening remain essential to the role.
Beyond the test infrastructure, you will contribute to the ancillary software tools that enable content creators to work faster. You will also be the technical point of contact for teams adopting these technologies, onboarding and supporting engineers and content creators inside and outside Apple, and you will prepare and run the demos that showcase this technology to leadership, partners, and the creative community. The work involves close collaboration with codec and format engineering, content production teams, and the third-party developers who integrate our tools.
